Meridian, most days of the week
Meridian's growth story is mostly about subdivisions, not downtown blocks. Neighborhoods like Paramount, Bridgetower, Lochsa Falls, Tuscany, Settlers Bridge, Spurwing, and The Oaks North are almost all built from the 1990s on, with HOAs, community pools, and three-car garages that are great for storage until they're not. A three-car garage holds a lot of stuff before anyone notices it's full.
Old Town Meridian is a different story — smaller, older homes without the HOA rules, mixed in with newer infill nearby. Either way, what people call about tends to be the same thing: a garage that needs clearing out, an old hot tub nobody uses anymore, or a shed that's served its purpose and needs to come down.
Most new construction here comes with an HOA and CC&Rs attached, and junk sitting at the curb or in the driveway for more than a day or two can turn into a call from the board. That's part of why a lot of people here want it gone in one trip instead of renting a dumpster and leaving it out front for a week.
I'm based just up the road in Eagle, so Meridian jobs are an easy add to the day. Text me a photo, I'll get you a price, and we'll get it handled.

ACHD Streets, Burn Rules, and Where It All Goes
Meridian doesn't actually own the streets in front of most homes — ACHD does. That matters if you're thinking about renting a dumpster and parking it on the street or blocking the sidewalk for a few days; that needs an ACHD right-of-way permit, not a city one. Keeping everything on your own driveway skips that step, and hauling it out in a truck skips it entirely.
Burning isn't much of an option here either. Inside city limits, Meridian allows irrigation-ditch burning and small recreational fires, but construction and demolition debris can't be burned, and burn barrels are banned countywide. So that old fence or shed coming down has to be hauled, not torched — and a shed or garage demo still needs a permit through Meridian Building Services even though the removal itself doesn't.
Once it's loaded up, most of it heads to the Ada County Landfill — locals call it Hidden Hollow — up in the north Boise foothills. For scrap metal or cardboard, the Meridian Transfer Station on West Franklin Road is the closer stop, and it takes those two categories free.

What neighbors are saying
“Tommy hauled away heavy, awkward furniture and a few other items the next morning after my first call to him. His communication was great, he was on time, professional, and saved us time as well as our backs! Thank you Tommy😊”
“Man of Steel Junk Removal did an amazing job, I would recommend 100%. We are farmers and parents and are absolutely overloaded with work, we have accumulated a junk pile in our driveway over the past few years, saying one day we would find time to get a trailer, load it, and run it to the dump. I saw an ad on Facebook for this service saying to send a picture of the junk pile for a quote, I sent multiple photos and the owner got right back to me with an estimated quote. He confirmed the quote in person and got to work, he was communicative and easy to schedule with and did the whole thing over text which made it easier for me. He showed up with one other person to help with the job and moved the whole pile in under 2 hours! Just awesome (before pic is actually smaller than the job they did, we ended up having more added to the pile.)The before and after speak for themselves! Price was also super reasonable- thank you so much!”
“Shoutout to Tommy and the Man of Steel team for helping us out with a junk removal project recently! They made the whole process completely stress-free, arrived right on time, and did a fantastic job clearing everything out quickly. It is such a relief to have that space back. I really appreciate their hard work and friendly service—I will definitely use them again!”
Meridian questions
Will the city pick up my old hot tub?+
No. Meridian's bulky pickup service specifically excludes hot tubs, along with pianos, bathtubs, boats, and construction debris, so those need a private hauler.
Do I need a permit to put a dumpster in my driveway or on the street in Meridian?+
Only if it's on the street. ACHD owns Meridian's public streets and requires a right-of-way permit for anything parked in the roadway or sidewalk — your own driveway doesn't need one.
Can I just burn old fence boards or shed lumber in my backyard?+
No. Inside Meridian city limits, burning is limited to irrigation ditches and small recreational fires — construction and demolition debris can't be burned, and burn barrels are banned countywide.
Where does junk from a Meridian cleanout actually end up?+
Most of it goes to the Ada County Landfill, known locally as Hidden Hollow, in the north Boise foothills — though metal and cardboard can also drop off free at the Meridian Transfer Station on West Franklin Road.
